How will my selection be shipped?

What if I change my mind after I have received my print/framed print?

If your purchase does not meet your expectations in any way, just let us know! We would be happy to refund your purchase when you return the item to us within 7-10 days. Your selection must be in the same condition it was when it left our facility when it is returned.

I have something specific in mind but did not find it on your site. Can you help me?

If you will describe what you are looking for, we will put you name in our database and write or call you when the painting or print is available. Please call (706) 207-0927 for information or write an email to: Jill [at] JillLeiteStudio [dot] com with contact information.

My order will be a gift. How can I make it special?

Would you like your new artwork personalised for a special graduate, wedding couple, co-worker or retiree? On request, Jill will individually sign your prints. Example: For Jane Graduate, MBA, 2011. A custom label with your special message can be attached to the picture backing. Please write: Jill [at] JillLeiteStudio [dot] com with your requests.

What are your framing rates?

Custom picture framing is occasionally requested and accepted by the artist. Please call or write for more information.

What is a Giclée?

Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay") is a French word meaning "a spraying of ink.” With the advent of giclée, reproducing fine art has become even more precise. Giclées have the highest apparent resolution available today. Displaying a full color spectrum, giclée prints capture every nuance of an original and have gained wide acceptance from artists and galleries throughout the world. Giclée printmaking offers one of the highest degrees of accuracy and richness of color available in any reproductions technique. Giclée printmaking provides a luminosity and brilliance that represents the artist's original work better than any reproduction technique available today.

Commissioning a Painting

Commissioned paintings are regularly produced for state, corporate and private clients. Research is required to achieve the desired painting. The artist will go to great lengths to ensure customer satisfaction. Prices for commissioned works are based on client preference as to size, complexity, and in cases of corporate commissions, distribution. Preliminary sketches, photography, and travel expenses are included in the commission price.

How to Commission a Painting

  1. Call or send an email about your special project. During busy months I have a waiting list.
  2. After our agreed price and timeline is set, a 30% deposit is due. At this time I will take photos. We can discuss angle, landscaping and any preferences you may have.
  3. Occasionally I have worked from customer photos when distance was an issue. (Please see photo tips below)
  4. I will complete and present your painting via email attachment, or preferably in person. At this time, you may suggest any reasonable adjustments. After final approval, the remaining balance is due and the painting is picked up, delivered, or shipped USPS Priority Insured.
  5. You enjoy your new original painting.

Photo Tips

One of the most important parts of commissioning a detailed portrait is having good photographs for the artist to work from. I prefer to take my own pictures, but if this is not possible, here are some suggestions: Photos must be clear and taken from several desired possible angles of view.  You are welcome to send me a photo to see if it will make a nice painting, before you "officially" commission a portrait. I will not work from a studio or professional photographer's photo, unless you have their permission.

On sunny days, you'll maintain the charm of the place and its setting by taking pictures before 10 a.m. or after 3 p.m. I have had good results with and prefer morning light picture taking.  Also, overcast days provide softer shadows and produce a flattering image. Take the photographs from different angles angles that proudly show off your house. I recommend the front and at least two different corners that include both the front and the side of the place.

Also take some close-up shots of doors and window moldings and any other interesting architectural details especially those that are hidden by trees. We can discuss distracting elements which can be eliminated. The more photographs provided, the better.

Email JPEG files or send hard copies of your photos. I will do my best to return the photos in good condition, however they will be in my studio with jars of water and tubes of paint. If you only have one copy of a photo, and you want to keep it in perfect condition, I suggest making a copy to send.
