What is a giclee?

A giclee (pronounced “jee-clay”) is a French word meaning "sprayed ink". It refers to a technology brought forth by a machine called the Iris. A giclee is a high resolution digital print recognized as a fine art print, like lithographs and serigraphs. giclee is considered one of the best techniques for reproducing original works of art. giclee prints look and feel like original art. Jill's new giclees are printed with archival ink on fine art paper.

Brief History of the Arch

Erected in the ante-bellum period, the Arch was modeled after the great seal of Georgia. Originally part of an iron fence, it could be closed by two iron gates which have since disapeared. Over the generations the Arch has become one of the primary symbols of the University of Georgia and has been the gateway between the University and the city of Athens. Until recent years, the tradition was that freshmen were forbidden to walk underneath it. This custom lingers somewhat even today.
